π New Tool for Teachers: Formative Assessment Generator
How often have you finished a lesson and wonderedβ¦ Did learners really understand that? π€
Checking for understanding during instruction is one of the most powerful things a teacher can do. But coming up with fresh formative assessment ideas every day can be toughβespecially when time is limited and lesson planning is already full.
Thatβs why I created a new tool called the Formative Assessment Generator β¨
This tool helps teachers quickly generate simple, practical formative assessment ideas for any grade level or subject. All you have to do is enter a few details like grade level, subject, and learning goal, and the tool will generate strategies you can use immediately in your classroom.
You might get ideas such as:
βοΈ Quick writing prompts
π¬ Discussion strategies
π― Checks for understanding
π§ Reflection activities
π₯ Collaborative thinking tasks
π¨ Visual demonstrations of learning
Each idea is designed to reveal learner thinking, not just whether an answer is right or wrong. The goal is to help teachers gather evidence of understanding while instruction is still happening so teaching can adjust in real time.
The strategies generated by the tool are:
βοΈ Quick to implement
βοΈ Aligned with learning goals
βοΈ Flexible for any subject
βοΈ Designed to surface misconceptions
Sometimes the most powerful instructional move is simply asking the right question at the right time. This tool helps make that easier.
If youβre looking for new ways to check understanding, spark discussion, and support deeper learning in your classroom, give the Formative Assessment Generator a try! π
