@jeffreyhwalton Easy way to help people remember is to actually say the letters of the acronym instead of making it a word.
acNa: Anglican Church IN…
Also, that’s the kind of thing that could be exploited in copyright/trademark litigation, sadly.
@lancelormand@fatherleenelson I think, apart from intellectual property (and strictly defined), NDAs have no place in Christian ministry. All things will come into the light, one way or another.
This makes the case for ‘neighborhood churches’ (parishes—so novel!) where vehicles aren’t necessary to get to church. And there’s something happening 7 days a week. This is my (naïve?) dream.
If you’re a pastor and thinking about cancelling church on Sunday, prerecording something, or going online only, don’t. Advise your people to be smart and use good judgment getting to church if it’s safe, but you, pastor, be there. Livestream for those who can’t safely be there.
Church services, like Waffle House, should not be deterred by weather. Somebody looking for warmth for a few hours may just hear the Gospel for the first time bc you’re there. Be smart. Be safe. Be open.
@RonOffringa@The_ACNA Having served on a Bishop Search Committee, I’m aware. One of the worst experiences of my (short) life. It turned out well, but it was not an edifying process.
@RonOffringa@The_ACNA What kind of vetting do you suppose happened for the recently GAFCON/Rwanda created bishop? Not insinuating there are issues, but it certainly didn’t follow the ACNA process and now he’s a regular member of the ACNA COB. At best, smells fishy, but that’s obvious.
@lambeth981@monkofjustice Too many have already begun operating under the assumption that the proposed revisions are already the adopted canons. While that time can’t come soon enough, operating under the assumption that it has already causes confusion on an already confusing process. At least IMO.
@lambeth981@monkofjustice You keep saying “old” and new” canons. There are current canons and proposed revisions currently under review. The language you use matters. “Old” (in this context) implies ‘no longer in use’ but in fact they are the current canons.
@PerlsoWisdom@monkofjustice Nice of them to communicate that 4 elected members of the court were unable to fulfill the duties for which they agreed to stand for election while this trial had not yet begun. *If you think you might not be able, don’t say yes.*
