Anticipatory design is rampant in online shopping with sites such as Amazon, which tracks data about its users to personalize purchase recommendations. This may help users decide on purchases better, but also begs the question of the ethics of companies holding user data.
Anticipatory design seems like a foolproof solution to the endless decision making presented on the internet. I go through the overwhelming nature of this almost every day. However, AD seems like a step further into overreliance on technology.
