🚨🚨🚨 Most people don't know this about $XRP. The code itself tells a story. 👇
ISO 4217 is the global standard for currency codes. USD. EUR. GBP. Every bank, exchange, and financial system on Earth uses it. The "X" prefix is reserved for supranational currencies and non-country-specific assets. XAU is gold. XAG is silver. XPT is platinum.
$XRP follows that same convention.
That's not an accident. It's a design choice that signals compatibility with existing financial infrastructure. When exchanges, wallets, and payment platforms process transactions, standardized coding reduces errors, improves interoperability, and makes integration smoother.
The XRP Ledger's own documentation confirms that currency codes on the ledger are intended for use with ISO 4217 codes. That means any token issued on XRPL can plug into the same framework banks already use.
Why does this matter for price?
Institutions don't build on infrastructure that doesn't speak their language. ISO 4217 alignment means $XRP can sit inside the same systems that process trillions in global payments without requiring custom workarounds.
Standardization is boring. But it's the reason assets get adopted at scale. The biggest clues are always hidden in the infrastructure.
