IRGC forces opened fire without warning on a car carrying Kurdish artist and photographer Mehdi Tavakoli, his mother and his sister on 26 July, killing all three in Iran's Kurdistan province.

The Islamic Republic has executed Abolfazl Sepahi and Amirhossein Safari, two detainees arrested during the Dey protests in Isfahan.

Reports indicate the executions were carried out during the call to morning prayer, after security forces violently dispersed hundreds of people who had gathered in a desperate attempt to stop them.

For many Iranians, it is this relentless violence carried out under the banner of religion that has profoundly damaged their trust in Islam.

Videos emerging from Isfahan, Iran, show security forces cracking down on residents who gathered at the site where detained protesters were reportedly scheduled to be executed.

It remains unclear whether the residents were able to prevent the executions.

Reports from Isfahan, Iran, indicate that some detained protesters were hanged in public despite residents gathering at the site in an attempt to stop the executions.

One eyewitness said: “At around 4:45, after dispersing the crowd, they turned off the lights again, shouted ‘Allahu Akbar,’ and executed them.”

@arash_tehran منظورم از «سکولارِ مذهبی» افراد مذهبیِ طرفدار جدایی دین از دولت نبود. منظورم کسانی بود که هم حکومت را بر پایه دین بنا می‌کنند و هم بخواهند خود را سکولار معرفی کنند. همان‌طور که مثلاً نمی‌شه جمهوری اسلامی رویک نیروی چپ‌گرا یا رهایی‌بخش دانست.

۱۵۰۰ زندانی #زندان_قزل‌حصار در دهمین روز #اعتصاب_غذا در اعتراض به صدور و اجرای احکام #اعدام به‌پاخاسته‌اند؛ قربانیان #فقر و فلاکتی که حکومت بر سرشان آوار کرده است.

صدها نهاد و سازمان و محفل در پیمان آوریل با هم برای پایان یافتن احکام اعدام میثاق بسته‌اند.
حکم اعدام ننگ این حکومت و هر حکومت دیگری‌ست که تنها راه بقای خود را فقط در استمرار و تشدید خشونت می‌بیند.
همه با هم صدای دردآلود و اعتراض زندانیان زندان قزل‌حصار برای حق حیات باشیم. در چنین شرایطی جا دارد که صدای" نه به اعدام" را به اصلی‌ترین مطالبه‌ی جامعه ایران بدل کنیم.
حکومتی که ده‌ها هزار انسان را در خیابان‌ها طی دو روز سلاخی کرد در وحشت از دادخواهی و مطالبه‌ی حق زندگی ما، ادامه کشتار را با پوشش حقوقی و احکام قضایی برای مان تیز کرده تا مبارزات ما را به سکوت بکشاند ولی خود بهتر می‌داند که چنین نخواهد شد و هر دم شعله انقلاب مردم فروزان‌تر خواهد گشت.

اقرار صریح یکی از مقامات این است:
"اگر اعدام نکنیم مردم معترض بیرون می‌ریزند"
باید کاری کرد. برای نجات جان زندانیان و علیه اعدام به اعتراض برخیزیم، اعتصاب، آکسیون، شعارنویسی و هر حرکتی که بتواند ارابه‌ اعدام را در هم شکند، ارزشمند است.

On Andy Burnham’s second day as UK prime minister, he helped the US bomb Iran via RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire.

We visited RAF Fairford in March of this year to investigate how Donald Trump was using the airbase to bomb Iran at the height of the war.

Screens had been put up behind the fences to restrict visibility and several roads closed, limiting access to journalists and members of the public.

However, by using a ladder and some ingenuity, we were able to see pallets of 2,000lb bombs being loaded onto American B-1 war planes bound for Iran.

According to Iran’s Ministry of Health, 50 people have been killed and more than 500 injured. A desalination plant was hit, reportedly leaving 10,000 people without water, and patients were evacuated from their beds after strikes beside a children’s cancer hospital in Ahvaz. Whether in war or under internal repression, the suffering of the most vulnerable too often remains invisible. Those losing their lives are fishermen, night-shift workers caught in the strikes, and residents of informal settlements -- people already living on the margins, long deprived of basic services. Women, children, refugees, persons with disabilities and people living in poverty shoulder the heaviest consequences of this violence while having the least access to protection and support. Minority communities, including the Baluch, whose areas were struck, are among Iran's most marginalised. Their deaths must not go unseen or unacknowledged.

The people of Iran are once again caught between renewed US strikes and their government’s internal repression. I continue to receive reports of executions, mass detentions, torture and enforced disappearances. Twelve individuals arrested in connection with the nationwide protests had their death sentences upheld on 5 July 2026, two of whom have already been executed, while the remaining ten are reportedly facing imminent execution. Most of individuals were in their teens and in their early 20s at the time of their arrest in Isfahan.

Civilians must not pay the price of this conflict. All parties must protect civilian lives and return to negotiations.
