At a time when girls’ rights face growing threats around the world, I am so encouraged to see this progress in Colombia. Congratulations to all the activists and legislators who fought to pass this bill. This is a major step forward for girls 💪🏽

When former students tell you, "Thank you for forcing me to read hard texts. I wouldn't have known how to read a textbook without you," and "Make them do homework or they will not survive college" among other gems. The visit encouraged me -- I'm not giving up.
"The rise of Europe came from the ancient cultures...[Even though it is not in the AP curriculum] @VHBaranyK still teaches us World History pre-1200 because she wants us to know it's important." From this week's @jrstateamerica thought talk @District128@D128Union
@MonicaTolva @AmyWigginsLHS @MelissaAubinLHS Libraries are for ideas, and ideas push us to think why we believe what we believe. Parents have the right to tell a child, "Do not check out this book." Or better yet, "If you want to check out this book, let me know and we can read it together." Limiting ideas is dangerous.
As we continue to introduce the newest members of the D128 Team joining us for the 2023-24 school year, we are excited to welcome Emily Meister who will be teaching Spanish in the VHHS World Languages Department. #Celebrate128

"I used to think a quiet classroom meant the teacher had good classroom management. Now, when I observe a quiet classroom, I wonder about language development. And I wonder about multilingual learners."
