🌂 Yesterday, we celebrated neurodiversity at our staff network event! Our theme? Umbrella's. Neurodiversity is our human umbrella. It covers a wide range of neurological differences. 🌈 #Neurodiversity#freetobedifferent @westmerciapolice
A common issue for our ND members is how tiring & stressful office work can be, due to forced socialising with colleagues & background noise
Ideas for adjustments:
💡 Noise-cancelling headphones
💡 Access to quiet workspace
💡 Homeworking
💡 Regular days away from the office
The seat belt covers will contain a contact card with key information, so frontline workers know how to support individuals

This week we attended Let's Pause organised by @WOWestMercia for #WorldMenopauseDay. During menopause neurodiverse women may experience an increased interruption in executive functioning or emotional regulation. Many report that this led to the discovery of their neurodifference.
We are pleased to launch our Newsletter ND News. In edition 1 there is useful information about Autism meltdowns and a guide created by our network to assist officers and staff when encountering someone who is having a meltdown.
