@DrFautley Quite traditional - I’m genuinely surprised. It’s such a musical place with so much more musical understanding amount the music teachers I know there. It’s quite a concrete curriculum- low baseline most will achieve. Maybe that’s the idea - let practitioners go further 🥴

@DrFautley I also tried to ask myself - what is the purpose of reading - what is the purpose of writing - and I don’t think this issue of purpose is unique to music one you go down that rabbit hole.

@nigelmtaylor @DrFautley So I still think that if we just got many more educators and leaders to be reflective we get closer to a consistent good. Constantly thinking “could I tweak this/myself to make it work better for this unique interaction with these children”. It’s so complex to define. /End

@nigelmtaylor @DrFautley And so that’s why we used to talk about the “art” of teaching. When you see all that come together with some ordering of purpose, you can somethings reflect on it as “of great quality”. But you might never recreate it or bottle it. /5

Had a problem with some sunglasses I got from @powder_uk Customer service was amazing. Replied within 24 hours - sorted in full within 48 hours. In the modern world I still can’t believe that exists. Full marks. Get your Christmas pressies there👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

@UlsterOrchestra @TheAlleyTheatre It was great. And brilliant to see an orchestra travelling to new audiences bringing its art further in NI. There was no dip in quality. Executed brilliantly. I know that’s challenging for players but it’s bloody ground breaking. Well done.
