2/3... In 1885, he discovered and isolated the elements neodymium and praseodymium from a mixture called didymium. He found that when a fabric was impregnated with thorium nitrate/cerimcium nitrate it would glow brightly when heated by a gas flame.

Glasgow City Council advise that two cast iron bases of the lampposts have been saved intact.

I'll work with GCC to have them conserved and put back on the B-listed bridge & commission replica patterns to replace the other lampposts, which can then be used elsewhere in the city.
