On the SPONSORED conversations going on about Linda Mwananchi, the Jubilee Party, and the Gusii elected leaders, I will submit as follows;

First, let us understand what Linda Mwananchi is. Linda Mwananchi is a faction that was born out of the leaders that were dissatisfied with the ODM Party taking the path of joining William Ruto's government through the UNPOPULAR broadbased arrangement. Those who were pro-Ruto-ODM bore Linda Ground, and the ones who were against it bore Linda Mwananchi.

The founders of Linda Mwananchi, who are all ODM-elected leaders, include Sen. Edwin Sifuna, Sen. Richard Onyonka, Sen. Godfrey Osotsi, Hon. Babu Owino, Hon. Anthony Kibagendi, Hon. Wilberforce Oundo, Hon. Clive Gisairo, and Hon. Obadiah Barongo, just to mention a few. Their efforts to create a political movement attracted the support of leaders of the same ideology from DAP K, Wiper, Ford Kenya, and many other parties that have seen the outfit grow to where it is.

Back to the conversation about the Gusii leadership in Linda Mwananchi. Let us remind each other that all the leaders, Onyonka, Kibagendi, Gisairo, and Barongo, are all ODM party-elected leaders and, at the same time, founders of Linda Mwananchi.

1. Linda Mwananchi's top agenda has been/is removing Ruto from office in the coming elections, as have the Jubilee Party, DCP, Wiper, DAP-K, DP, and many other parties in the opposition. It beats logic when someone tries to argue that when someone is supporting Linda Mwananchi, then he/she is opposing Jubilee or any other party.

2. All opposition presidential candidates have been saying the same thing. They have been encouraging each other to separately lock down their turfs, and they will come to join forces later for a formidable coalition to take Ruto home. Linda Mwananchi, just like any political party or outfit, has the discretion of having a leader, and so emerged Edwin Sifuna.

3. It will require a concerted effort for the opposition to topple Ruto from office next year. This is something that we must accept always. Gachagua needs Matiang'i, Sifuna, Kalonzo, Muturi, Karua, and everyone else to win, just as any other on this list needs each one of the listed to also win.

I would like to challenge Dr. Fred Matiang'i not to allow naysayers to expose his TRUE and most CONSISTENT foot soldiers in this TRIVIALIZED conversation that has been reduced to a contest between Linda Mwananchi and the Jubilee Party instead of the target being William Ruto and his FAILED regime.

If Dr. Matiang'i allows the mudslinging, then he would be giving credence to a sinister motive of eventually weakening him, definitely sponsored by the state. It's Onyonka, Kibagendi, Gisairo, Barongo, Omochokoro, and the rest who have spent their time, resources, and energy and sacrificed for several months to make this presidential ambition a reality, even when very few believed in it. Any attempt on them will be a direct attack on Dr. Matiang'i's candidature.
