1. It doesn't reduce crime.
2. It is expensive.
3. There is no remedy if the state gets it wrong.
4. I think the state executing civilians, no matter how reprehensible, morally wrong.
He *deserves* to die but killing people is wrong. It’s that simple. The point of being against the death penalty is for when the person deserves it. It’s easy to be against it for when someone doesn’t deserve it.
By the way, my reactions to KU players entering the portal have nothing to do with my surprise by their decisions to enter the portal. I’d portal every year to maximize my value too, with KU or elsewhere in market. Until the rules change, that’s the game. (Still kinda hate it.)
