The original poster for A new Hope might be a little cheesy, but it has style, it has presence. It’s iconic and memorable. And Disney seems completely allergic to creating something new in the same spirit of storytelling.

I think the poster art shown below is emblematic of the problem. It’s hideous mess, an amalgamation of “greatest hits” distilled into a red and blue-colored pill to make it seem competent and digestible.

The poster are from the originals is stark in comparison.
