⚠️ HELP HOLLY SMILE AGAIN ⚠️

On Sunday 16th March, Holly Robinson got kitted up and ready to play in goal for Caversham United Women. Like she does every Sunday. However, this Sunday didn’t end up in smiles following 90 minutes on the pitch with her teammates.

During the match, fearless Holly rushed out to pounce upon a loose ball but met the boot of an opposition player. In the face.

Holly lost four teeth there and then, which were collected off the pitch. She was taken to hospital following her head injury but despite best efforts there and from dental experts in the following days, Holly’s four front teeth were not able to be reinstated.

Despite the team being covered by FA accident insurance and Holly having her own medical cover, sadly neither policy will make a dent in the bill Holly faces to return her smile.

@lee_penny_2702 @RacingTV You have to look at something to gauge an idea of what weather temps you’re expecting to judge accordingly what the best plan of action is. Unfortunately for us and those involved it didn’t work.

@lee_penny_2702 @RacingTV It was left late as the track was more than suitable to race merely half an hour before the first. The temperature dropped harsher than forecast. It would be presumptuous to call it off without giving it a chance we as a team believed it would have been raceable.

The temperature dropped far harsher than we expected, making the track unsafe. It wasn’t an easy decision as hard work had been put in to ensure the track was ready.

@lee_penny_2702 @RacingTV It was minus -5 when working the track at 1.30 this morning. The track was absolutely perfect by 2/3 this afternoon. The temperatures we were working in at the beginning of when racing was supposed to start were far harsher than expected. We tried as hard as we could.

Regardless of that, the work we put into the surface (keeping it moving therefore not freezing) meant that around an hour before the first race we were in a fantastic position. Unfortunately temperatures dropped significantly more than expected.

You have zero knowledge of the effort we have put in trying to get this fixture on, through the night and much of today.
