Zoë's trial starts in less than two weeks, on Monday 17 November. This trial will be for the first 6 of the Filton 24. All 6 were arrested at the Filton site of Elbit Systems, Israel's main weapons manufacturer, having destroyed equipment and weapons including quadcopter drones.

The trial is looming
is what I say now
when people ask about my daughter -
the one in prison -
‘looming’ is the word I always use

And suddenly I see it
towering above us
a frame that must be twelve foot high
taut threads stretching up into the darkness
waiting for my daughter and her friends
the way a scaffold waits

The warp is ready -
they will be the weft

Shuttled back and forth by prison van
woken up at 5
two hours’ journey either side

Shuttled in and out
of van and dock and cell
the prosecution’s icy fingers
forcing in and out
of what and when and why
the wigs and gowns
and twelve blank faces bearing down
back to prison in the van
up again at 5

The heavy grip of boredom
the sudden spikes of fear

But then
maybe six weeks later
it will be done

It will stand there in the courtroom
where everyone can see
their stories and their lives
pulled in, pulled out, pressed down
between the bars
of eighteen months in prison
and the trials of the trial

May their colours blend and bleed
into a weave
of courage drawn by love
a portrait
of these souls who valued -
far above themselves -
those crushed beneath a genocide

When that tapestry is seen
it almost doesn’t matter
what the jury will decide

Usama Ghanem is taking King’s College London to court for expelling him and triggering the revocation of his visa over Palestine Activism.

He is now at potential risk of being deported to his native Egypt where he has been subject to abuses in the past!

After Pro-Palestine protests at the university, Usama, an International student, was subject to a smear campaign leading to King’s College to punish him and other students.

The university singled him out for permanent expulsion.

King’s College weaponised its disciplinary procedures to silence solidarity with Palestine.
