Please retweet, Mathew Daly, #SOUTHPORT#MERSEYSIDE#LIVERPOOL#UK CONVICTED ANIMAL CRUELTY - AVOIDS JAIL!! Sentencing | banned from keeping any animals for two years.
CONVICTED | Matthew Daly, 31, - left his pet cat in agony, with nearly every bone in his paw broken for up to a fortnight.
Buddy had broken four out of the five metacarpal bones on his front left paw and was battling a severe untreated flea allergy when he was found on the top floor of a flat on Manchester Road, Southport, in January 2023.
His owner Daly admitted two charges of causing unnecessary suffering and failing to meet Buddy’s needs following an RSPCA investigation.
South Sefton Magistrates Court heard how RSPCA inspector Anthony Joynes had gone to the property after concerns were raised about Buddy's welfare.
He said: “I noted Buddy was underweight with his spine, ribs and pelvic bones easily palpable through the skin. He was also suffering with a skin condition and I saw that his fur was thinning down his back and rear legs. Scabs could be felt under the fur and live fleas were noted.
“Daly picked Buddy up and brought him over to me and I could see his front left paw was swollen. He said that he had been suffering with an ingrown nail.”
Daly agreed to sign over his pet, and Buddy was taken for immediate veterinary treatment, where x-rays revealed multiple fractures in his paw.
The vet said the deformed paw on the cat’s left front leg was consistent with having fractured metacarpal bones, and x-rays confirmed that four out of the five bones were broken. The fracture margins and the formation of new bone suggested the breaks were between 10 and 14 days old.
In an interview, Daly said Buddy was an indoor cat who belonged to someone else, but admitted he was also responsible and helped to look after him on a daily basis. He said he didn’t think Buddy was in any pain and he would have sought treatment for him if he thought he was suffering.
Luckily, Buddy went on to make a full recovery at the RSPCA’s Wirral and Chester Branch. Another cat owned by Daly was also signed over into RSPCA care, and the two were adopted together.
Speaking after the case, Inspector Joynes said: “Buddy was clearly in a suffering state and needed urgent veterinary attention. It is the legal responsibility of the owner or person responsible for their animals to look for symptoms of ill health or injury and seek prompt and appropriate veterinary care. I'm relieved that Buddy is now safe and living in a loving home.”

Please retweet APPEAL FOR INFORMATION, Tiny dog found fly-tipped almost died #UK
The Shihtzu was found after being abandoned in the #Coytrahen area of #Bridgend#WALES , RSPCA Cymru has said.
A tiny dog was found "fly-tipped" in Bridgend with a heavily matted coat contaminated with faeces and nearly died. The shih tzu-type dog, who has since been affectionately named Patsy Pancake, was found on January 24 having been abandoned in the Coytrahen area, RSPCA Cymru has said.
The poorly pooch, who is around 10 years old, was spotted by a passer-by next to a hedge and taken to safety before the RSCPA were called.
It was "touch and go" whether she would survive but she has been nursed back to health and is currently being looked after by an RSPCA foster carer, the organisation said.
It has now launched an appeal for information about the dog and her owner. RSPCA inspector Keith Hogben, who has been investigating this incident along with deputy chief inspector (DCI) Gemma Cooper, said the dog was found on land that is known for fly-tipping -
DCI Cooper added: “It was touch and go as to whether she would survive but the staff at the vets have been incredible and they helped to make a miracle happen.” Keith added: “If anyone can help us with our inquiries and has first-hand information about this dog and who her owner was please do get in touch by calling 0300 123 8018 and can quote 01213820."@WalesOnline

URGENT, please retweet to help find Arthur a PALLIATIVE CARE HOME #SOMERSET#UK Lovely Labrador aged 12 'We are sharing a very sad update on our beloved Mr A (now Arthur) - our worst possible fears have been confirmed and vets at both our practice and the specialists have unanimously agreed that he should be placed on a palliative care plan. To say we are devastated is in understatement 💔
We now need to find a palliative care home for Arthur. The vets estimate he has around 3 months left but we suspect he may stay with us for longer - although his time to cross the rainbow bridge will be informed by his quality of life, levels of pain etc.
The remaining monies from his fundraiser will be used to cover his end of life care, including Librella injections to help his old-boy pain. Arthur needs a calm and happy home where he will be given the highest standard of love and care - this is time for him to be spoilt. He has a bit of a Wishlist for his final stop
Would like to have a canine companion if possible, he likes other dogs and would not like a home where he was left alone much.
Someone who is physically able and strong, as he will need some physical support (lifting), especially towards the end.
Someone who will stay with him in his final moments, when the time comes <✅
We want him to pass away surrounded by love and care so he needs some really special people. You can apply to be his family here -

URGENT, Tearjerker, please retweet to help Tilly find a palliative care foster home #Derby, #Nottingham, #Chesterfield or #Burton for vet care #UK
'We are still looking for a long-term/palliative care foster home for Tilly who came to us after her owner sadly died.
Tilly is 13 years old and is a Scottish terrier. Tilly was found to be passing small amounts of blood when passing urine and sadly a scan has shown a lesion in her bladder, though it’s impossible to know whether this is a benign polyp or something more sinister without doing more invasive tests which vets feel would be too much for Tilly at her age. For now she is being managed on pain relief and she seems absolutely fine in herself.
Tilly does need to wee frequently as a result of her condition and if not let out regularly (i.e overnight) she may have the odd accident. She is happy to sleep downstairs and sleeps soundly.
Tilly is great with visitors and loves being around visiting children.
She loves to meet other dogs on our walks and may benefit from another similar-sized, calm and friendly dog. She loves to have a little walk/sniff everyday day and according to her foster-mum is happy to just pootle along!
Tilly has recently been groomed and looks so much more comfortable and smart!
We know that Tilly may not be with us for long and that it will take a special person to come forward to foster a dog who is poorly, and even possibly terminally ill, but we are really hoping to find that perfect final home for Tilly for however long she has left.
Please apply to help Tilly via https://t.co/FRa4eavLN8

@AdoptionsUk WTF our Justice system is broken… How can you rehabilitate Cruel and Sadistic behaviour like that… He should be serving his sentence and banned for life from keeping animals and placed on an animal cruelty list and if that doesn’t exist one should be started..
