Let me give a story about civil defence.

I was there account officer from when they were voluntary under Oga Jomo, when they do recruitment then I will send a list and most get employed though the pay was just basic .

There was this friend of mine that we did masters with in th early 2000s he was unemployed, so I asked him if he can join civil defence he said anything my brother, I took his CV and gave Oga Jomo, he was given two stars, 2004 he became 3 stars then, 2006 govt took over and they asked for those with certificate to present to be put at their right places, my friend is an FCT indigene,and has masters and they use quota system, so he was elevated to Deputy commandant 2008 and posted to one of SS state, later because a commandant.

I always give his story as inspiration to those who look down on humble beginning, if that my friend had looked down on my offer and called it guguru defence he won't have reached where he reached in life.
