Nice use of a disused bit of tarmac in a lovely park.

And it has a timer! So part velodrome of sorts

Yes - sort of.

In that the lights are working, but drivers still prioritised when the road is busy.

When the road is quiet the wait seems less.

It gives the wrong impression on priorities if @StockportMBC @SKWalkCycle are serious about active travel.

Did we mention that the illegal and discriminatory barriers in Adswood Park are still in place?

Even worse, the pointless, illegal and discriminatory chicane on the other side of the park is still there, rendering the working crossing useless. A travesty.

No, no plans. In fact, they have just resurfaced the junction of Granville/Birdhall so it is now wide, smooth and fast 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏾🤷🏻‍♀️

*Not happening.

The work is to make a nice smooth, fast route for drivers to keep danger high for the school children and parents that use this route by foot or bike.

Work will be completed before the very late sparrow crossings.

Work has started on Birdhall Ln/Granville Rd to

- Narrow the ludicrously wide bell mouth junction*
- Install an implied zebra*
- Install a much needed signalled crossing across Birdhall, which is a well used school walk-bike route*

Will only take a week too!
