I believe it's down to sidearm, up to gadget.
Might be a setting that's not right for you

And mid game you can call in vehicles to get around, or again.. redeploy, that's why that option is there

I solely play it and am never out of a fight for more than a minute. Just learn where the teams meet and have firefights with your team
