Happy to announce I finally pulled the trigger and bought a Synology DiskStation® DS425+.

Yes. Finally dialling back on Dropbox and Apple’s iCloud.

Also getting rid of two external harddrives.

Quietly also looking forward to having a proper setup for Radarr/Sonarr and Plex so I can cancel a few other subscriptions (Netflix, Disney, HBO, Prime, AppleTV).

The Netherlands has a €36.000.000.000 ecommerce market. 31% of all retail happens online.

Dutch shoppers convert at 1.78%, just below the EU average.

But here's what actually matters:

83-90% of all Dutch online payments go through iDEAL.

Not PayPal. Not cards. iDEAL.

If your checkout doesn't support it, a Dutch shopper hits the payment step, sees no iDEAL option and leaves. Full stop. No amount of UX optimization on the rest of your site recovers that.

The 2025 EU Ecommerce Benchmarks includes a Netherlands-specific section with conversion data, cart abandonment, and payment method context.

All my Figma projects have an “Archive” page. It’s a complete mess. A graveyard for all the versions of the screens that never made it.

Helps me to see the number of tries it took. And even a simple screen can be improved through iterating.
