@Suzierizzo1 When the Supreme Court ruled that corporations are people for 1st amendment purposes, did they rule that they are boy people or girl people - they have to be one or the other, obviously.
@yonosayway@mmmkikikannibal Truth is a defense. When the person claiming they've been libeled is a private rather than a public figure, and the defendant claims truth as a defense, the onus is on the defendant to prove the statement is true.
@yonosayway@mmmkikikannibal First, if false it could be libel, not slander. And second, truth is an absolute defense, regardless of whether the accused has been charged with a crime.
@jacobmjohnson1@BTCHODL907@bennyjohnson@CommunityNotes You mean the post that says, "He needs to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."? Yeah, that's an opinion without factual support. Or are you talking about some other post that's not in this thread?
@jacobmjohnson1@BTCHODL907@bennyjohnson@CommunityNotes Yes, I did. A simple Google search shows that Iowa beat Maryland in a women's basketball game in College Park, MD on Feb. 3, 2024. What more do you need? Did Schmitt show any evidence to rebut Smith's claims to be at that game, rather than an NBA game in Atlanta?
@ChrisjamesCincy@timdragga@KDilanianMSNOW@Eric_Schmitt Sir, the FACT is that the Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball team beat the University of Maryland team 93-85 in College Park, Maryland on February 3, 1985. Google it yourself if you don't believe Mr. Smith.
