.@ChuckEdwards4NC had $1.1M in PPP loans forgiven. This week, he voted to rescind Pres Biden’s plan to forgive up to $20K of student loan debt to benefit ordinary Americans. Another example of Republican “good for me, but not for thee” governance.

@SecCardona No different than you. FFEL spousal consolidation loans still ignored, no guidance to providers on admin forebeafance. You are no different
@UnderSecKvaal @usedgov And .... no one gives a sh*t about public servants with Joint Spousal Consolidated Loans. JCLSA signed into law last October, yet, we get no pause, no PSLF and still have to pay full fare. Follow the law and implement the JCLSA or cancel the loans. @SC_DoUsPart
@AFord525@SC_DoUsPart@HawleyMO@Eric_Schmitt - and here's the response we got from https://t.co/pOCUMvPuOz after we filed as directed:
Your inquiry may reference private education loans. ED does not have jurisdiction over private loan matters. You will need to work directly with your loan holder to resolve your concerns
@HawleyMO & @Eric_Schmitt please look into this mess. Yesterday https://t.co/bpD8rY4t0Z website announced JCL borrowers should file complaints to the ombudsman to get administrative forbearance because they don’t think they will implement law 117-200 until late 2024! Meanwhile servicers are still denying forbarence requests & are requiring everyone keep paying on loans that may not belong to those making payments. The senate passed this unanimously June 2022, @POTUS signed on 10-11-22, they’ve had time - what is wrong?
@SC_DoUsPart Thank you!!
Heads-up...the site states we need to declare with the Ombudsman our intent to apply for separation. The Ombudsman link leads to the complaints form. I filled it out regardless.
@WhiteHouse@POTUS@SenSanders@SecCardona stalling the law to finally separate joint consolidation loans back into separate direct loans means a family battling cancer must remain trapped in FFEL loans & continue payments, while everyone else enjoys the pandemic pause @SC_DoUsPart 👇 https://t.co/3011SJmvch
More insanity with Joint Consolidated Student Loans: husband has cancer, asked @Nelnet for cancer deferment, them: sure, sent us paperwork. Called us back & said:NO, sorry, UNLESS U BOTH HAVE CANCER we can’t do cancer deferment. OMG! @usedgov@markwarner@SC_DoUsPart
@usedgov@FAFSA Has DoE followed the law to allow separation of JCSLs? I’ve been in public service 23 years and my application sits on hold until DoE follows the law and separates my JCSL. @SC_DoUsPart
My New Year resolution: ensure the @usedgov & @SecCardona do the right thing & separate my Joint Spousal Consolidation loan & my spouse & I can finally apply/qualify for PSLF. Then we can pay for his cancer treatment & perhaps start saving for retirement. He is 58. @MarkWarner
Meet a 30-year-old with $110,000 in student debt who chose her job in hopes of public-service loan forgiveness — but her balance just keeps growing https://t.co/3MBjjvSZZD via @Yahoo
