One love Uganda
Dear Mr Bobiwine kyagulanyi,
You cannot demand the world notice Uganda, then treat every outsider who actually lands there as a traitor. That is not integrity. That is a monopoly on the moral microphone
Meeting a head of state and his son to talk coffee, tourism, and investment is not the same as blessing every act of the state Uganda . Tyrese came as an artist and investor, not a priest or a human-rights court or activist . You cn believe in Jesus, want Black economic power, and still sit with whoever #actually #controls the #land, the #ports, and the #coffee. That is how countries work. Scripture is full of men of faith sitting with rulers they did not control but worked with. Engagement with them is not worship. Refusing every African table until it is morally spotless is how you keep African land, African coffee, and African jobs talking only to themselves. Investment too is not a sin Jobs, markets, and cameras are how poor countries stop being lecture topics and start being economies. If Black lives matter when it is inconvenient, they also matter when a visitor tries to put money into coffee farms , we shall praise that too instead of other press statements
If the standard is “never stand next to anyone accused of abuse,” then half the continent’s leaders, and plenty of Western ones , are off-limits. We have NOT seen you post post and condemn the USA military operations that have caused death of children and women en millions of civilians they have caused in (Iran ,Japan, Korea (North and South , Vietnam,Laos,Cambodia,Iraq ,Afghanistan,Yeme,Somalia,Syria,Pakistan,Libya,Panama,Serbia,Philippines,Grenada,Lebanon,Sudan etc … Yet this is the same country where your trying so hard to seek Justice, (the master of Wars) , Arent you a hypocrite then! Why work with e USA Dont you become a traitor, why then havent you educated yourself too…The charge of hypocrisy cuts both ways, you want the world’s attention on Uganda’s problems, then condemn the very people who bring cameras, capital, and markets. Black lives also include the farmers, workers, and young people who need jobs more than another lecture from abroad.
The country u live in today is close the master of wars and destabilization? It’s where you seek Justice but you live n it, it has losts of investors and billionaires, unlike local Uganda !!
When is the last time you promoted positivity in Uganda 🇺🇬!
Why should everyone believe like you??
Whom is the head of state and whom did you want Tyrese to meet ??
As a Mutoro from the Toro Kingdom, who grew up knowing how humble King Oyo is, it breaks my heart to share my thoughts with the BBC’s Focus On Africa on his sudden demise.
It’s been a tough day! May his soul rest in peace.
Greatly honored to be part of the team supporting Uganda’s candidate for UN Secretary-General, Amb. @OOtunnu_. It is inspiring to witness the exceptional warm reception he is receiving as he engages stakeholders across the world. I also commend Hon. @RuhakanaR for his able stewardship as Special Envoy. 🇺🇬
