The highly anticipated annual encounter between Busoga College Mwiri and Namilyango College unfolded in spectacular fashion, delivering a compelling display of athletic excellence, resilience, and camaraderie across multiple sporting disciplines at Mwiri Hill.

Cricket provided an emphatic start to the day’s proceedings, with Mwiri—reigning national champions—asserting their dominance early. The hosts posted an imposing 127 runs in just 10 overs, setting a formidable target. Namilyango, despite their determination, struggled to build momentum and were eventually bowled out for 28 runs, handing Mwiri a comprehensive 99-run victory.

Namilyango responded strongly in rugby, a sport in which they have long established pedigree. Demonstrating physicality, structure, and tactical discipline, they secured a convincing 42–22 win over the hosts.

The football fixture was a tightly contested affair, marked by disciplined defending and tactical awareness from both sides. Mwiri capitalised on a key opportunity to secure a narrow but deserved 1–0 victory.
