Update on NFU Hearing on 21 Aug 25: The matter was to be taken up at about 11 today. However, the Attorney General, Mr R Venkataramani himself appeared in the Court at about 10.45 AM and made a "mention", again seeking an adjournment. I vehemently opposed the proposal at the top of my voice which was heard by people standing even outside the Court. I brought out that the Govt has taken more than 70 adjournments and it is going to be now about 10 years since the Govt is enjoying a "Stay" on the implementation of the AFT Judgement which is in my favour but the Court said that it was helpless since the AG himself was making the request. When I pressed further, Hon'ble Justice JK Maheshwari commented on the merits of the case negatively. The matter was adjourned for 17 Sept 25 and even for that date, the AG mentioned that he may even seek further adjournment, may be a day or two prior to 17 Sept 25. The JUSTICE to the Armed Forces Personnel is very very FAR and elusive in our Country.....
