We had cloud streets in Kansas City this morning. These look like long tubes and are stable (they don’t mean bad weather). The atmosphere always has a story to tell

WEEKEND STORMS, SCORCHING TO START FAN FEST
- Had over a half foot of rain in places north of KC last night, and it may be a double dip with another round tonight. Our northern zone is again the target for strong storms & heavy rain
- Weekend has storms at times, but still lots of dry hours
- Saturday morning has some spotty rain, but it’s the 5-10 pm range to watch. Slow, heavy duty downpours likely pop somewhere nearby. There may not be a ton of them, but they’ll be super soakers
- Sunday brings waves of rain. Not all day, but may be enough to keep us mostly inside
- We get progressively more humid each day through next week. The 90s + humidity combo is nasty for Fan Fest
- Wednesday & Thursday both have heat index to 105

Happy Friday! Warm and humid today, but mainly dry. Late evening storms look to bubble up across northern MO. One of our computers is trying to drop those storms closer to the KC metro into the early overnight... Should be decaying as it gets closer. @KCTV5#kswx#mowx
Wednesday looks like your nicest day for a while... Enjoy some time outside with lower 80s in the afternoon! Humidity levels and rain/storm chances climb late week.

HEADS UP - Wet roads in KC for your Monday AM commute. Rain/storms/clouds are all moving east, so we should all expect a summery day in the mid 80s. That darn humidity stays high today...

MON 2:30 AM - Significant rain has fallen in the Northland in such a short time. Some spots have seen up to 5" of rain, especially near Claycomo/Liberty. Flash Flood Warning through 8 AM.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been posted for the region through 4 am, with tennis ball-size hail, 70 mph winds, and a tornado or two being possible.

Looking good this AM KC!
We have a dry start to the day, but showers are slowly lifting from the south. That rain chance will grow into midday/afternoon. Thinking our best chance for heavier pockets is the second half of the day. Northern MO, not much for you today. #kswx#mowx
We are turning up the temps for Memorial Day. Expect mid 80s with strong sunshine. Thankfully, the humidity is not horribly high today. Grab sunscreen/hats/sunglasses if you're heading to the K!
