#cycleto and #walkto folks - changes are coming to St. Mark's Hill in #Toronto west. Transportation is presenting a proposal for the hill at TEYCC on April 12th and it's time to come together. Let's collaborate - [email protected] cc: @gordperks
“You cannot justify the decision to build a bridge based on counting how many people are swimming across the river. The infrastructure you build shapes people’s decisions.” - Appreciating Planner Brent Toderian’s views as we advocate for #cycleTO and #walkTO improvements
"Just as fast or faster than taking transit, easier and cheaper than fighting traffic + finding parking in a car. And when I arrive on a bike, I feel energized by the exercise ..." writes @thekeenanwire

A couple of weeks ago I wrote about the work being done in Warren Park to make the community safer for everyone ... here is more ... #TOpoli#Toronto
Great work Erika and @WarrenParkTO

“Residents in a west Toronto neighbourhood are facing an uphill struggle - literally…their only realistic access to shops, schools and transit is by making their way up one of the city's steepest hills” #walktoronto#completestreets@CBCNews https://t.co/QTfxNjHxWX
A group of west Toronto residents has partnered with local schools and organizations to host a design challenge for students to re-design the infamous St. Mark's Hill near the Humber River/ Baby Point/ Old Mill. https://t.co/rfXCUjz6Vv
8am, 1 year ago today. 20 mins before Warren Park children walked the hill to school. -3°C overnight to +4°C left an icy morning hill. 1 year of asking for immediate temporary protection for our little pedestrians @gordperks. #walktoronto#torontopoli@tdsb
We've done everything we can to try and stop @Metrolinx from tearing down the historic trees at Osgoode Hall.
Now, it's time for something new.
Meet BOLD. A coalition fighting for proper consultation from Metrolinx.
Join us at our public demonstration tomorrow. More info👇
@cityoftoronto Have your say! Warren Park was in 1 of 4 pilot zones and had a number of participating families. Did #HensTO benefit the community? Should it be here to stay?
As Isla in Gr. 2 explains, “this is an everyday experience…in the valley”. At #WinterWalkDay2023 we saw first hand the #walktoronto challenges our students go through daily to get to school. We need a #completestreet plan for St. Mark’s Hill @gordperks
Our student walkers were joined by supportive friends + parents with little ones that will one day walk the hill. @tdsb + @gordperks work w/ us on a safe route to school. #WWD2023 with @OntarioAST@EcoSchoolsCAN
Let's mix vehicles with no visibility down the hill + a sidewalk not serviced by the @cityoftoronto since pre-covid, with sub-minimum curb height and width that does not meet disability standards. #completestreets plz! #walkto#torontopoli
@Yonge4All Congrats @Yonge4All! What a great example of coordinated + individual efforts to make changes that work for residents and visitors to the area. We're inspired!
@svn_ap And perhaps one day to the Humber River Trail and #torontowest's access to it along St. Mark's Rd, one of the steepest hills in Toronto and a cycling and walking favourite / @gordperks#walktoronto#cycletoronto
