FBI’s Most Wanted fugitive in $100M scheme was free on bond, bolted.
Darren Robinson ran a massive Ponzi scheme out of Panama and the Cayman Islands that stole roughly $100 million — a high concentration of victims right here in metro Detroit. Federal prosecutors under Biden-appointed U.S. Attorney Dawn N. Ison (nominated Nov. 2021, confirmed Dec. 2021) did not seek detention and did not object to a $10,000 bond.
Five months later he cut his GPS monitor in Atlanta and vanished. Now he’s on the FBI’s Most Wanted Fraudsters list.
Soft-on-crime decisions have consequences. I wonder how many of those victims voted for the very system that cut their scammer loose. The liberals always get what they vote for — coddle the criminal, screw the victim.
