NEW: Hialeah Mayor pulled over after activating police lights on his city vehicle during traffic stop

Hialeah Mayor Bryan Calvo was stopped by Miami Police on June 14, 2026, for making an illegal left turn.

After the stop began, Calvo turned on the red and blue emergency lights on the rear of his city-issued vehicle.

The officer questioned him about activating the lights and warned that doing so could be considered a third-degree felony for falsely assuming the role of a law enforcement officer.

Calvo was issued two traffic citations totaling $308 and has pleaded not guilty to the tickets.

They should have taken him to jail.
