Black History Month is a time to recognize the lived, shared experience of all Black folks who have fundamentally shaped, challenged, and ultimately strengthened America. It’s about taking an unvarnished look at the past so that we can create a better future. As we mark 100 years of celebrating Black history, let’s honor the sacrifices of the leaders who came before us, and recommit ourselves to continuing their work.
There are racist white men out there who are actively harming the black community with their racist propaganda. Why are we pouring gasoline on that fire by continuing to perpetuate negative stereotypes within our communities, we as a community need to do better.
If there’s one thing black Americans are good at is playing victim 24/7 and blaming white people for all their problems and shortcomings. This not only creates fear within our communities and makes it seem as though we aren’t capable of anything but also…
As black Americans we need to hold each other accountable for all the stereotypical bullshit we for whatever reason take pleasure in perpetuating any chance we get. YN’s, Black women twerking at very inappropriate times/places, gang shootouts etc.
“How do you feel about homosexuality?”
“I find it disgusting. Men kissing men. Every TV show now, they rub your nose in it.”
They don’t make shows like this anymore.
