Today, @acdi_africa engaged with @CDDGha.
Focus was on strengthening how evaluation and evidence shape public decisions and identifying pathways for collaboration across the evidence ecosystem.
Strong alignment and a shared pathway to turn ideas into action.

Across 24 African countries #Afribarometer :
China's influence remains positive.
The U.S. loses ground.
Russia gains visibility, but not dominance.
African citizens are not choosing sides blindly. They’re assessing impact!
That’s what makes this data powerful!
Across 38 #African countries (2024/25), overwhelming majorities reject authoritarian alternatives:
• 79% oppose dictatorship
• 76% oppose one-party rule
The democratic norm remains strong at the citizen level.
The real question is whether institutions are keeping pace.
21st Century!
Women are still more likely to lack formal education across #Africa says, #Afrobarometer. In some countries, the gap is loud, loud. This isn’t culture. It’s policy choices. Education gaps don’t close by themselves! #Gender#Policy#education#Closethegap
Ghana fuo, this should worry us, oh. #Afrobarometer data shows 9 in 10 citizens think many or all judges and magistrates are corrupt!!.
Justice must be trusted.
Right now, that trust is bleeding!

From #EndSARS to #FixTheCountry and #FeesMustFall, young Africans are driving civic change through tweets, threads, and viral content.
Yet the same space that empowers them also exposes them to misinformation, harassment, and limited access. How, then, can they use social media to truly influence democracy?
Episode 3 of CDD-Ghana’s Youth Unplugged Podcast, “Clicks, Hashtags, and Change: The Rise of Africa’s Online Generation,” explores Africa’s youth bulge and how digital platforms are shaping civic participation.

It’s not just inflation. It’s frustration! 82% of #Africans say their govt's are doing badly at keeping prices stable. Only 23% think jobs are being created. The economic pulse is weak, & citizens can feel it. How long can #democracy thrive when pockets stay empty?
Honest, bold, and thought-provoking!
Young people have questions. They have so many ideas as well. And they have a right to be heard and contribute to building and sustaining democracies that transcend generations.
That’s what 'Youth Unplugged' is all about, a CDD-Ghana podcast for unfiltered conversations on politics, the economy, history, and everyday realities, told from the perspective of youth.
