Officers in Cambridge have arrested a wanted male after responding to a residence near Beverly Street and Dundas Street North and locating a fire inside the unit.

On June 2, 2026, officers entered the residence and removed the 59-year-old male, who was taken to hospital for smoke inhalation. No other physical injuries were reported.

The male has been charged with multiple offences, including arson and uttering threats. There is no ongoing risk to public safety, but an increased police presence is expected as the investigation continues.

Our Break and Enter, Auto Theft, and Robbery Unit is investigating three residential break-and-enters in Kitchener and Waterloo.

On May 29, 2026, homes were targeted in the areas of Stoke Drive and Victoria Street South, Sandford Fleming Drive and McCrae Place, and Branstone Drive and Amberwood Drive.

In each incident, suspects entered through rear doors and stole jewellery and personal property.

Investigators are asking residents in these areas to review home security footage.

On May 26, 2026, officers responded to a fraud at a residence in the area of Arrowhead Crescent in Kitchener after suspects posed as police officers to gain entry and steal cash.

Investigators have since determined the incident is linked to a roofing scam earlier in the month.

Images of a company logo and involved truck are being released.

Police remind residents that officers will never request cash or valuables for investigations and to be cautious of unsolicited contractors requesting urgent repairs or large payments.
