@ashleydawn2916 We definitely need to make sure our students know how to find credible information and just because google said so does not make it that way!!
@AllisonWeets Well said! I also included ESL in mine--which has both pro's and con's when using technology. My eyes are definitely more open now due to this class : Thanks @jerridkruse
@AllisonWeets I like the explanation of the "morally shallow" person using more social media than others. I believe this is accurate. I am guilty of only showing my best photos full of editing, and then of course seeing how many likes I get. This makes me sound super shallow. #selfesteem
@ashley_willits@jerridkruse This is such a huge controversy. The informed consent piece is interesting because it raises the question, how would you feel if you were "created" on purpose through altering your DNA? While I see some benefits to research, I agree it should not be used for reproduction.
https://t.co/VQG0IQjpOQ This article talks about the "soft impacts" of technology over time. The subtle ways that it creeps up on us and makes us need more of everything at a faster rate. It also raises the question, if it's available, must we use it?

@marymcdonald37@jerridkruse@KristyDee2 Totally agree. Social media is a rabbit hole of comparing yourself to everyone else who appears to have it all together!
@BridgetBearden@RaddatzTalia I have a friend who is constantly looking at her watch when someone texts her. I think I would have to turn off the text notifications!
@AllisonWeets@jerridkruse You should probably go camping for a week and leave your devices at home ;) Sounds good, but it would truly take me forever to be comfortable in my own skin. And that is sad!!
@AllisonWeets Agreed. I was with some younger people and they had never used one! How awful would it be to have to look up everything in a big boring book??
"Find My Friends" pros-knowing my child's whereabouts and he can see when I'm on my way home from work. Cons-having your child know where you are, if you use it with someone else they can shut off their location.
