The first Joint Steering Committee meeting for the Food Security Crisis Preparedness Plan (FSCPP) was held at SoDMA headquarters, co-chaired by @KamalGutale, Permanent Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister, and Commissioner @MahamuudMoallim, bringing together key government leaders and international partners.

Participants included UN Deputy Special Representative @GConway_UN, agencies such as @WFPSomalia, @OCHASom, @unicefsomalia and @FAOSomalia, the World Bank, NGO representatives, and federal ministries, highlighting a broad, coordinated approach.

Discussions focused on fast-tracking the first phase of FSCPP to tackle worsening drought and food insecurity, while reviewing pledged support and the need to accelerate delivery of aid.

The meeting underscored the importance of strong coordination and prioritizing the most affected communities, with Commissioner @MahamuudMoallim calling for scaled-up response efforts to support those in urgent need.
