Learn to enjoy redrafting and editing. Don't rely on an editor to turn your ideas into something publishable; you need to be able to write 'publishable' yourself.

Redraft until you're sick of the sight of it. Then do another one ;)

@roarkclarke Me too!!!

[J. Wayman Wells @WaymanWells]

@roarkclarke No joke! I was sat down in elementary school because I was digging in the school yard for dinosaur bones and because I told all the kids I was an animorph!

[J. Wayman Wells @WaymanWells]

@roarkclarke Child: paleontologists Astronaut firefighter in space

Preteen: Preacher (wanted to be like dad, that went away when I discovered girls 🙈)

Teen: Actor

20s: Producer/Educator/Writer

Now: I am a travelling School Assembly Performer who writes books

@redbanshee @EmilyMaeHood @AmyGeorges3 @WriterLift @chrismcquarrie @ColdHeart_Prj @kylo671 Oh boy do I understand imposter syndrome. But like @chrismcquarrie said we are all imposters. The best way to overcome it is to keep going

[J. Wayman Wells @WaymanWells]

One of the biggest reasons people stop writing is because they can't think of what to write. KEEP writing! It doesn't matter what you write as long as you write it. Always write.

Writing advice?

I look in the mirror every morning and tell myself, “let’s go f*** s*** up.” That is to say, don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Lots and lots of mistakes. They help you learn.
