Tennessee has just passed a law making Tennessee a Sanctuary State... for gun owners, manufacturers, retailers and sellers.
No longer can any company discriminate against any gun owner in TN like flag CC transactions, deny insurance or raise rates due to gun ownership etc.
@TNSenateDems@SenatorLamar So to to make sure - we made it “more illegal” to improperly own or create an already highly restricted item.
Do you think that will suddenly curb things?
@KnoxvilleHoller@RepTimBurchett After promoting the elimination of firearm rights by eliminating “due process”, it’s entertaining that it’s convenient that it exists now for you huh?
@TheTNHoller It’s amazing you guys don’t use the same thought process when discussing firearms rights… it’s almost as if…. It’s not convenient for you.
Wanna ask the opposite?
1. High Crime Rates in Strict Gun Control Cities
•Chicago, IL, Baltimore, MD, and Washington, D.C. have some of the strictest gun control laws in the U.S., yet they consistently report high rates of gun violence.
•Example: Despite Illinois having a red flag law, FOID card system, and universal background checks, Chicago remains among the top cities for gun homicides annually.
2. International Comparisons Don’t Always Support Gun Control
•Mexico has extremely strict gun laws (one legal gun store in the entire country, military regulation of sales), but suffers from rampant gun violence and cartel-related homicides.
•Brazil imposed strict gun control in the early 2000s, but homicide rates remained high until unrelated security policies took effect years later.
3. U.S. Gun Ownership vs. Crime Trends
•According to FBI and Pew Research, violent crime in the U.S. decreased significantly from the 1990s to the 2010s, while gun ownership per capita increased.
•Example: From 1993 to 2013, gun homicide rates fell 49%, yet firearm ownership grew significantly during that same period.
4. Defensive Gun Use (DGU) Is Common
•A 2013 CDC report commissioned under the Obama administration cited defensive gun use estimates ranging from 500,000 to 3 million times per year in the U.S.
•This suggests firearms prevent more crimes than they cause in many cases.
5. Criminals Don’t Follow Gun Laws
•A 2019 study published in the journal Preventive Medicine found that over 90% of criminals obtained guns illegally, usually through theft or the black market—not from gun shows or legal purchases.
•Gun control laws primarily affect law-abiding citizens, not those committing violent crimes.
6. Gun-Free Zones as Soft Targets
•According to the Crime Prevention Research Center, over 90% of mass shootings between 1998 and 2015 occurred in designated gun-free zones, where law-abiding citizens were disarmed and unable to respond effectively
If you wanna use ChatGPT, we can too.
Here’s a summary of arguments and evidence often cited to support the claim that gun control does not work, particularly in terms of reducing violent crime or gun-related deaths.

@VoteGloriaJ Is that like how you presented your unconstitutional firearm legislation? To this day you have never articulated your defense to supporting unconstitutional positions.
We have many stupid laws in this country but one of the stupidest laws is the one that heavily regulates sound reduction devices for firearms, also know as suppressors.
These helpful hearing protection devices aren’t regulated at all in countries like New Zealand & South Africa.
