@DBLACKGH is the first Ghanaian musician to successfully own 3 hospitality entities, a nightclub - Club Onyx / icon, a lounge - Oasis Lounge and a restaurant - La Maison Restaurant for a decade whilst actively being an artist himself and running other businesses including a record label, events company and advertising firm.

@dblackgh is the first Ghanaian Rapper to be nominated for the @BETAwards in the history of the award scheme. In 2011 D-Black was nominated in the category of Best International Act - Africa and attended the award show in Los Angeles. Losing out to Nigerian pop acts D’Banj & Baba , he was nominated with Angelique Kidjo and Fally Ipupa from Congo. He also kicked off the infamous BET Hiphop Cypher focused on Ghana that same year with fellow Ghanaian acts Legend Reggie Rockstone, Tinny, Sarkodie, Edem and more.

@DBLACKGH is the first Ghanaian rapper to perform and win at the prestigious Channel O Music Awards in Johannesburg South Africa.
D-Black performed in 2012 at the Channel O Awards with Wyre from Kenya and Kwela Thebza from South Africa. The following year D-Black beat Wizkid, P Square, Naeto C , Sarkodie to win West African Act of the Year following his ‘The Revelation’ Album in Johannesburg, South Africa.
