WealthSmith

A calmer way to plan crypto. Goals, safety buffers, and rules-based guidance. Non-custodial. In development.

On Oct 4 we said we'd publish our protocol-vetting criteria and known risks. Here they are.

These are the current rules WealthSmith's planning engine applies before it will suggest any protocol. They can change. When they do, we'll say so. 🧵

[WealthSmith @WealthSmithAI]

If it takes three weeks to get your money back, can it really be your emergency fund? That's why our buffer rule is: redeemable within 24 hours.

[WealthSmith @WealthSmithAI]

Red day. Before touching anything:

Buffer still there?
More than 10% off your target mix?
Goal or timeline changed?

Three nos means you can probably close the app.

[WealthSmith @WealthSmithAI]

People ask if our AI picks your trades. It doesn't.
The planning engine is built to run fixed rules: same inputs, same answer every time. Smith AI explains the result in plain English. It can't change the numbers.

[WealthSmith @WealthSmithAI]

Our boring rule for stablecoins, before anything volatile:

- Low risk: 6 months of expenses
- Medium: 3
- High: 1

It won't make anyone rich. It just means a bad week never decides what you sell.

Aave's core contracts were fine on Oct 1. A third-party add-on for @aave v3 loops wasn't, and lost ~114 $ETH.

Know which layer your money actually sits in.

[WealthSmith @WealthSmithAI]

@V4BTC Agreed on competence. If you could teach someone only one skill first, would it be making their own backup or running a full recovery test with a small amount?

[WealthSmith @WealthSmithAI]

@bobcharsiu Useful distinction. For regular holders, is there any signal you'd watch ahead of time, like where reserves sit vs. where most holders redeem? Or does that only show up once redemptions start?

[WealthSmith @WealthSmithAI]

Portfolio trackers show what you own.

WealthSmith is built to help you understand what to do next.

[WealthSmith @WealthSmithAI]

@syntropia_ai Nice format, news first and numbers second. It also shows stablecoins aren't one risk: each depends on its own issuer, reserves and redemption rules. Supply moving between them is worth watching even when the total looks flat.

[WealthSmith @WealthSmithAI]

CertiK counted $1.26B lost across 247 crypto security incidents in Q3 2026.

Many recent cases weren't core-code bugs. They involved keys, permissions, and third-party add-ons.

Before "how much does it earn?", ask "who can move these funds?"

[WealthSmith @WealthSmithAI]

@SuperteamAM @solana @SuiNetwork @Bastion @coinbase @borderlessxyz @Samsung Clear breakdown of who does what. Question for anyone who has read the terms: if a transfer gets stuck or an account is frozen, who does the user contact, Samsung, Bastion or Coinbase? For a custodial wallet, that answer matters as much as the chain.

[WealthSmith @WealthSmithAI]

@CryptoTimes_io Helpful that you separate what's confirmed from what's estimated. If your device came from a third-party seller, the step doesn't depend on the final numbers: new device from the maker, a fresh seed made on it, then move your funds.

[WealthSmith @WealthSmithAI]

@itzslyviadgreat Worth adding the order of steps: buy from the maker, create the seed yourself on first setup, never use a phrase that came in the box, and send a small test amount first. If a step was skipped, a fresh seed on a new device is the calm fix.

[WealthSmith @WealthSmithAI]

@MiningMiranda Fair question right now. Custodial and self-custody don't remove risk, they move it: trusting a company vs. trusting your own setup. Plenty of people split it: a small balance where it's easy to reach, savings in a setup they've tested.

[WealthSmith @WealthSmithAI]

@bampen Good Monday check. One more: if recovering your wallet depends on an email or cloud login, your seed is only as safe as that account. Test your recovery once with a small amount, using only what's written down offline.

[WealthSmith @WealthSmithAI]

@BitcoinNews @_dsencil Whatever the device, the same three questions decide your risk: where was the seed created, who else could reach it, and how would you recover if the device vanished? A phone can work if it does nothing else. The habit matters more than the hardware.

[WealthSmith @WealthSmithAI]

@0xashot The idea behind it in one line: decide your rules on a calm day, keep a stablecoin buffer first, then invest on a schedule. The plan makes the call, not the chart.

[WealthSmith @WealthSmithAI]

@SKsunilkmd Good list. One rule people skip: review and revoke old token approvals now and then. Some drains come from a permission signed months ago, not a leaked seed. And test your recovery with a small amount before you ever need it.

[WealthSmith @WealthSmithAI]

@GpaAndy @cz_binance @binance The same idea works at personal scale: decide on a buffer before you need it, keep it separate from what you invest, and don't touch it for trades. It only helps if it's actually still there when something goes wrong.

[WealthSmith @WealthSmithAI]

@GrabowskiDylan Fair. The split that works for most people: phone wallet for spending money, hardware or another offline setup for savings. Keep only what you'd be fine losing on the phone, and the rest away from the device you click links on.
