Don't miss today's @bamwxcom long-range video I recorded, also posted on our @clarity_wx platform.
I discussed the stark differences of this pattern as we go deeper into this month to early June vs last year.
Summary: if you're looking for / needing this pattern to dry up soon, I would reconsider.
Here's a quick comparison of late May to early June last year vs what we anticipate ahead.
We always aim to stay transparent with our research and forecasts, check out my video below for full analysis.

Also, did you know that many locations from Texas, the Dakotas to the Ohio Valley are running top 10-20 wettest last 60 days on record (dating back to 1893)?
It's no question this pattern as of late has been soaked for most of us.
An active #Spring is making getting into the fields challenging for many. Utilize @clarity_wx, work with our @bamwxcom directly, to help mitigate #plant24 delays as much as possible.

South America ag weather weather:
Soil moisture for C. #Brazil below the surface continues to rapidly deplete.
Latest obs rainfall over the past 2 weeks shows 0" for major #safrinha#corn locations, as the monsoonal rains have shut off early. Meanwhile, excessive rains & #flooding persist for Rio Grande do Sul.
Both conditions are expected to continue for the rest of May.
Will the market react to this ahead? Time will tell.
#AGwx #OATT
The next several days across the Plains and points east will be very busy with strong to severe #storms.
Here's a great timing graphic created by our @bamwxcom team for our @clarity_wx partners for reference.

⚔️We have a classic week 2 weather model showdown going on right now across the Ag Belt.
💶The Euro (1st image): Widespread dry.
💵The American (2nd image): Widespread active.
🤷♂️Who wins? While I do think a drier stretch is in there ~later next week, we are already targeting multiple storm dates to follow (image 3 from our @bamwxcom long range update Friday).
🎯Takeaway: if you’re needing a drier stretch ahead for field work, I’d be looking in the 5-10 day period before activity picks back up.

The last ~30 days across the ag belt has been soaked (outside of the western half of KS).
#ElNino certainly isn't wanting to let go of its influence lightly, that's for sure.
Soil moisture from the surface to ~40" has increased significantly as a whole as well. How are conditions currently where you are? Let me know!

Hardly hearing anyone talking about the complete shut off of rains across the safrinha #corn crop areas of central #Brazil?
I’d say 70%+ of the major growing areas pose the risk for 1” or less of rain the next 4-6 weeks w/ the monsoonal rains shutting down way ahead of schedule.
Pay attention to this over the next 1-2 months. I’m no market expert, but I know typically rain makes grain or…not.

⚠️Weather problems ahead for #Brazil#safrinha#corn?
Latest SA ag weather update to @bamwxcom today highlights a pattern returning next 4-6 weeks of both excessive dryness (central) & moisture (south).
Will be interesting to see how the market reacts to this.
#AGwx#OATT
A #storm system next week in the Central US is one we need to keep an eye on for #severe weather threats Monday/Tuesday from Indiana westward into the Central Plains.
This active pattern looks to persist now into late April.

Summer '24 growing season precipitation trend:
Three years in the past are starting to rise to the top consistently regarding this developing #LaNina + Pacific Ocean (-PDO) oceanic set-up: 2011, 1998 and 2010.
Deciding factor? How strong this Nina gets into summer. Strong = 2010 wetter ag belt, weaker (2011) drier risk, 1998 in between.
This is something we are watching like a hawk over the next 1-2 months at @bamwxcom

Heavy rainfall verification post:
Back on Friday I posted a forecast from our @bamwxcom team, discussing the coming heavy rainfall threat early the following week, many areas to see 2-4"+. Overall, very happy with the highlighted areas of biggest risk (still moisture to fall today as well that'll continue to fill this in more).
We do this on a daily basis on @clarity_wx, now's a perfect time to partner up so we can help you and your operation stay ahead of risks like these!
#AGwx #Plant24
Can’t recall a time I’ve seen the Ohio Valley under a severe weather risk for 3 days in a row.
Not only strong storms but excessive rainfall and a flooding risk, many seeing 2-4”+ of added moisture.
First threat kicks off tonight.
Stay updated with us: @clarity_wx@bamwxcom
You’re reading these totals correctly.
High likelihood of a deluge of 💦 Sun thru Wed this week, a result of a stalled out warm front for days.
Shouldn’t be any #drought / dry soil talk around these parts for some time going forward now.
#ILwx#INwx#OHwx#AGwx#Plant24#OATT
🌧️FLOODING RISK INCREASING EARLY NEXT WEEK🌧️
Discussion: a multi-day excessive rainfall threat is increasing Easter Sunday thru early next week, as a stalled out warm front + strong SW flow aloft collide to bring the risk for some locations (in the pink) to receive 2-4"+.
Timeframe: ~Sun - Tues next week.
Stay tuned to @clarity_wx@bamwxcom for updates as we get closer!

The forecast into mid-April is consistently warming up ahead, based on our latest research.
For my farmer/ag folks: knowing this potential for the 2nd half of April, would you start getting the planters ready to roll for it, or wait a bit longer?
