Compute = revenue, Anthropic’s bottleneck will be the overly conservative compute that they booked for 2027. All these amazing features will be nerfed because of limited compute and enterprises will likely have preferential treatments over normal users. OPEN AI , with less amazing products will flood the market with tokens and win.
Would be a win if Tesla and SpaceX don't need to wait for SK Hynix's HBM or any NAND as a start. We can have as much memory as we want, cheaply. Then if the yield of TERRAFAB is close to TSMC's, say 50-70%, which Samsung failed to do, Tesla will be a player in advanced packaging. But every generation of chips requires a couple of hundred million in investment. If the yield ends up low, the investment is more or less wasted and you need to hope to perform better in the next generation. TSMC perfected the craft using 30 years; how quickly can Tesla catch up?
Common in architecture office, no one touch C drive, it is only apps and a current set of drawings, 3D models, spreadsheets etc. All works will be on a separate work drive, and there is also sketch partition for some random ideas, then all offices would have a massive library (image reference, style reference, photoshop library ) It is common to have a tree folder that is 300GB with only files of trees. An intern would do 20 varations of same renderings and each would be a 4GB files.
Claude Cowork did something I wanted to do for a decade but couldn’t. Backing up all photos in Google photos and then removing them all, Roughly 140k photos. Deeply moving.
“Storage” is an issue for a lot of people, I assume a lot of creatives work on multiple external hard drives like myself, it would be so awesome if COWORK works on any drive and external hard disks. Imagine all these designers, architects, photographers, who all got bunch of unorganised folders in folders with forgotten knowledge. Then we could flatten all folders and let agent find the gems.
@elonmusk We also need a device that can store life’s work, minimum of 50TB, not in cloud, not subscription. It is borderline inhumane to sell phones and computers with small storage.
Everyone said it is a must read. None of them say why. Honestly, there is nothing new in this piece, nothing truly transformative or inspiring. Technological Republic by Alex Karp has a much deeper take on “new world order”, capitalism, identity crisis, private sectors, and armament race between states.
If you are planning a chemical peel to treat hyperpigmentation or physical scars, make sure you stop using tretinoin, retinol, Epiduo, or hydroquinone for an adequate time beforehand. The required gap depends on what was prescribed, but it is generally a minimum of 2 weeks.
