Thrilled to share that we’ve updated @Weather_Up_ for iOS 18. All Home Screen icons now support dark and tinted versions (thx @flarup).
We also updated the fantastic interactive widget to work in tinted mode.

As an experiment for the iOS 18 launch, you can now try Weather Up completely free for 7 days (doesn’t auto-renew, no need to confirm App Store billing) if you hit this link once the app is installed: https://t.co/UrKhqfEJQ9
RTs appreciated 😉
@skylarprimm @rickmurrays Still working on it. Always takes so much longer than intended, and COVID combined with the political mess this year has made things even more difficult than usual.
@rickmurrays We have a widget, just not quite ready to ship. And the watch app was 90% done in June, but we ended up having to re-write a lot of it to work better with watchOS 7. Everything has been taking 10X as long as intended, but we’re still pushing forward.
Now that I live in a place that has weather, I have become a @Weather_Up_ subscriber, and I would like you all to know that I am firmly in Camp Yellow Icon.
@matkovsky That’s strange. What happens if you zoom in and out? Are you on iOS 13? Anything else that might tip us off as to why this might be happening?
Forecast accuracy varies from place to place, so we’re introducing two new forecast sources in @Weather_Up_ 2.2: Dark Sky and AerisWeather. Coming soon: Dark Mode for iOS 13! https://t.co/VwYQ1KpPg7
@hamblinpyke We’re working on a better way to handle this, but currently you have to switch to a city in each country to get radar to show in that country. So add a city in the UK to your list, or just tap and hold on the map to drop a pin in the UK.
@timurp Sorry for the hassle, it wasn’t the update it was that our weather data provider had a bug in their data feed. It was related to Event Forecasts, so if that was the first time you enabled it, the crashes seem related to the update. Anyhow, it *should* be fixed in 2.1.1.
@skylarprimm Exactly. Our plan is to add a NOW column so that it’s more clear that *right now* at 7:30AM it’s -20º, but the forecast says it will get to -11º between 8AM and 9PM. (Sometimes the hourly forecast does fall behind if the actual temperature is far hotter/cooler than forecasted)
@skylarprimm Ultimately it depends on so many factors and you can have a >4º difference just from standing in the middle of a forrest, or standing in the middle of a parking lot 100 feet away.
@skylarprimm We plan on making this more clear in a future update. As far as the differences go, -20º compared to -16 and -18 is in the range of expected difference. The truth might be -18 and one was +2, the other -2. Or it may have actually been -20 and the other were -4 and -2 off.
