if you've got a spare weekend and want to get better with Claude Code...
build these three projects:
1. your own "benchmarking" toolkit
- not those fancy dev tools, just prompts + systems + messy projects with tons of files
- run each new model through YOUR actual work
- you'll know within 15 minutes if it's worth switching
- saves 3 hours of reading other people's reviews that don't match your use case
2. a mini-saas for each repetitive task
- build something embarrassingly simple
- host it for $2/month, just for you, who cares about security anyway
- the goal is just to stop doing the same boring task manually
3. an AI assets library
- prompts, context files, MCPs, random github repos you might need
- sort them, make it easy to find, work on implementation guides
- when you need that one weird prompt at 3am, you'll find it in 30 seconds
these feel like side projects but it's actually the start of a decent infrastructure
Geçen hafta Claude ile 6 saatimi dijital ayak izimi silmeye ayırdım.
Adım, telefonum ve adresimin bulunduğu 47 kaydı sildirdim. Kullanmadığım 12 eski hesabı tamamen kapattım.
Nasıl yaptım, adım adım anlatıyorum:
I'm fascinated by the rise of frictionmaxxing as a response to a frictionless life. We engineer away inconvenience, only to discover that some of the friction we removed was part of what made life feel alive in the first place
If you have an intense soul, you need to pour that intensity into your hobbies/art. That energy needs to go somewhere or it'll swallow you. Your depth must have a purpose. Create your own worlds, that you and other like minded people can escape into. You have a super power.
One of the tricks I picked up from working at Google is a very simple way to make sure your interface feels on-brand:
Start with the core brand colour.
Let's say it's blue.
You create a palette of blue shades from light to dark, almost white to almost black, all with a blue tint.
The text isn't just pure white.
It's a very light blue.
The background isn't pure black.
It's a very dark blue.
Using these throughout the core elements will create an almost unnoticeable but present brand 'feeling' through the interface.
It works especially well for trading interfaces where the positive/negative colours can easily dominate, making it hard to incorporate your brand without it being jarring.
This technique works perfectly for any product and industry.
And if you're building with AI, you can just prompt it in:
"Take my brand's base colour and generate a tinted scale from near-white to near-black. Use those tints for every background, surface, border and text colour in the interface instead of pure greys."
Higher body fat is a better predictor of testosterone than age.
Chronological age alone explained just 2.5% of the variation in total testosterone in men aged 20 to 59. Including measures of body fat, visceral fat, or waist circumference increased that to roughly 18-20%.
And a simple waist measurement performed about as well as DXA-derived visceral fat for explaining differences in testosterone levels.
A tape measure (something you can use at home) captured much of the same information as advanced imaging!
This is one reason I talk so much about visceral fat (the fat surrounding your organs). Excess visceral fat can promote inflammation and insulin resistance, both of which can interfere with testosterone regulation. Fat tissue also contains aromatase, an enzyme that converts testosterone into estradiol, a form of estrogen.
The relationship can run both ways - lower testosterone can favor fat accumulation, creating a feedback loop.
These are observational data, but they suggest some of what gets labeled “age-related” low testosterone may be more closely tied to body composition.
In July we open-sourced a dynamic graph of everything a child learns in primary school. 1,590 concepts, 3,221 dependencies.
Now we’re turning every concept into interactive experiments kids can play and learn from.
First one, age 7: heat and water.
Everything that used to be a boring textbook can now be an engaging experience, potentially tailored to every child.
Kids education just got a massive upgrade.
Read a lot
Read a lot
Read a lot
It will:
> widens your thoughts
> increase your vocabulary
> makes you more productive
> critical thinking skills
> cognitive growth
Love this! If I had kids, I’d love to teach them this way.
I’ve been exploring learning through play too! A Claude skill for making hand-drawn, interactive everyday objects. Here’s my little washing machine :)

building a personal brand is probably the highest return play you can make right now... here's how you can use AI in content creation:
the only way to get there is to be genuinely valuable to your audience
whenever you scroll X you see the same recycled tips everywhere, stuff said a thousand times... nobody stops scrolling for that
you're either naturally gifted at shitposting and you get away with it, or you stick to dropping value bombs
so dig into YOUR experience and pull out the fresh insights, the things that haven't been beaten to death across the platform
this is where AI comes in... you set up an agent whose only job is to extract valuable thoughts out of your brain:
- it reads your channels, client and team convos on Slack, emails etc
- it analyzes your Claude Code or Codex sessions (or anything really) to resurface what you built, what broke and how you fixed it
- it talks to you something like 30min a day and helps you get it all on paper
from there sure, use AI to write and all
but if you skip the extraction time, the rest is pointless
In a similar scramble I did to jump on AI in late 2022 (moving from remote work and nomads to AI apps), I am now scrambling to chase any remaining moats
As AI companies will suck up everything else (in my humble opinion)
So for every moat left I see where I can pivot towards to that with my sites/apps
Proprietary data or content:
- I launched a https://t.co/HGCLKS69sE paid data API for companies from $2,490/year to $9,990/year, the city data is great because it's made by real members who for example review/like/dislike a city after visiting it, or being able to see which places are growing or shrinking (interesting of real estate, coworking, or gym investors)
- https://t.co/0lBrLhXmCW neighborhood data is very valuable and I'm building a paid API for that too, as well as including it in the Nomads API
Network effects / community:
- I made the https://t.co/HGCLKS69sE community free (before $99, now just $1 to avoid spam), the more people, the more network effect
Audience / distribution: you can get attention on demand
- I have an @X audience and I get paid well for it (about ~$15K/mo), but I've also diversified that with my blog https://t.co/8VnHmB41ZP's email list and Telegram subscribers, which is now 187,279 people who get daily/weekly/monthly email digests of my posts
Physical component: hardware, locations, IRL:
- I have been improving and promoting https://t.co/HGCLKS69sE meetups, there's now 8 meetups planned in the next 30 days, but is has to keep growing, I've also added fitness meetups etc.
- I've been using and working on https://t.co/kSbsCmv3rm a lot and improving it, it seems to fill a real void in booking sites that all suffer from rating inflation and filters that are not modern, I'm adding features I want and it seems that's working. Today I'm adding a filter for Longevity Hotels, that have a strength training gym, wellness area, blackout curtains, as a counter balance to the boomer hotels with champagne on check in and a gym with only treadmills etc. Hotelist is fundamentally IRL because hotels are IRL
- Not really IRL but https://t.co/vlONz0Yejc is an annual event that's every year has ~1000 people participating vibe coding games and this year had over 1 million people playing the games, and AI companies really like to sponsor it because it's a great way to get exposure for their AI building tools
- I am building a https://t.co/M1hEUBB6da 1990s retro PC mini remake, like the SNES Mini, or the ModRetro M64, a hardware product I can sell marketed for nostalgia, especially after the last few weeks where it took off finally, I think there could be some market, and hardware is fun to try
- I sell merch on https://t.co/RyXpqGvdBB and make about $1K/mo from it, I haven't been very active on it but could expand this if I want
Capital: owning assets and investing
- I was already heavily invested in AI companies but have been even more with the acquisition of Cursor giving me $SPCX stock, I'll hold on to that, I think money will keep getting sucked from the traditional economy and replaced with paying AI companies money
- As a hedge, I've also put more money in bonds with IB01 ETF in case the AI bubble pops, $IB01 is a nice simple ETF for that
- I am actively looking at buying more land and real estate (especially coastal) as that's a scarce asset that will remain scarce post-AGI
- I am actively investing in startups with https://t.co/sQ0aiU82PA although I'm wondering what startups are still valuable to invest in as Big AI and Big Tech suck up everything, if you look at the last YC batch, it's all "Cursor for {industry}" harnesses and hardware, I think robotics could be interesting to invest but it's unclear who will be the winner as ironically robots have a low barrier to entry. Most robots are just Chinese-made components put together with some vibe coded software by their Western founders!
- I am open to buyers for https://t.co/9IDc0NsTvM and https://t.co/067b4q2Dg6 to increase the amount of capital I can invest elsewhere
Regulatory: licenses and legal barriers
- I am bad at this, and don't like regulation by nature. So I don't have anything here. And I don't think I will try pursue anything in here. I have friends building apps that work on getting EU subsidies or EU government program credits for emissions etc. But it's not my thing
So yes, chasing moats it is! Let's see if it works
