Remember those kids who used to be noise makers but still topped when the results were out?
It’s the same in tech. Abilities vary. While some need 10000 hours, others only need like 1000 of those.
Trust me they’re fine. Work according to your intellectual capacity.
Recruiters, if someone has more than 5 years of experience, the tech stack should not matter much.
Drop me in a Django codebase, and I'll find my way. It will be slow at first, but I'll get it. I won't enjoy it, but I'll do.
@NelsonHavi The issue of drainage has been brought up so many times before. @SakajaJohnson could have addressed it and a lot of damage could have been avoided. It's what he should have already done, not what he should do.
Did a thing about some patterns:
Arrays and Hashing
Two pointers
Sliding window
Stack and Queues
Recursion and Dynamic Programming

Now let me tell you what Reduzer has done for this town.
Before us, many folks here had never heard of software development. Anything tech-related was a cyber cafe to them. We changed that. They've watched our developers ship code to clients in Europe. They've seen what's possible.
Did I mention that there wasn't fixed-line broadband internet?. We fixed that. And soon, we're pulling the first fiber optic connection for the folks in Nyamarambe to feel it for the first time through our Reduzer WiFi program.
But Reduzer can only do so much.
We've proven the model works. We've shown this town what tech can bring. Now we need others to step in.
As a backend dev working closely with frontend teams, I’ve come to appreciate how even a basic understanding of backend concepts can empower FE devs. The same applies in reverse, understanding frontend workflows helps me design better APIs

"A function should do one thing, and do it well."
Sounds simple.
Then scope creeps in, requirements change, and suddenly your processPayment() sends emails, updates logs, waters the plants and builds a house 😅.
Keep it clean. One function, one job.
This guy sounds like a broken record. Sasa kila wakati 'siasa ya chuki', 'ukabila'. I have not even listened to the entire clip but I know what he's about to say. You are fooling nobody Mr Kasongo.
