THE LAST DAYS 🎬
A fictional political satire imagining a nervous #AbiyAhmedAli confronting mounting pressure at home and abroad while his cold UAE adviser, Ali, offers little sympathy. Fano, TDF, Ximdo, Oromo and Amhara politics, Eritrea, Egypt, Western support, Assab are becoming nightmares to his divide and conquer plan. One uncomfortable question: what happens when the plans start crumbling?

May 1991, BBC Africa was on the ground reporting on the rapid, unstoppable advance of Eritrean forces, with mechanized units heading toward #Assab and Addis Ababa. Ethiopia’s foreign minister was in Washington, pleading with the U.S. government to intervene.

#Eritrea|n identity isn’t a cheap coat worn for asylum checks & tossed away when convenient.
Western media amplifies Eritrean for crime even when citizenship is denied yet buries it when Eritreans achieve greatness.

#Eritreans being harassed & our country's reputation is being ruined by Ethiopians who have committed identity fraud; obtained residence permits in the West by posing as Eritreans. Western nations should send them all back to Ethiopia, identity fraud is crime in international law

ERITREA — A criminal case in north London has drawn attention to an uncomfortable question for Britain's asylum system: what happens when an applicant's claimed nationality cannot be independently established?
The latest controversy follows a case involving 𝐁𝐫𝐮𝐤𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐞, a 33-year-old migrant whom some British media reports have described him as "Eritrean".
The Embassy of Eritrea to the UK and Ireland disputes that description, saying he is not registered as an Eritrean citizen and challenging the evidence used from Harrow Crown Court regarding his status to identify him as an "Eritrean" national, raising fresh questions about how nationality is established in asylum and criminal cases in Britain.
This particular rape incident by this fraudulent Ethiopian migrant, masquerading as "Eritrean", has once again exposed the decade old malicious European and British immigration policies against #Eritrea through their "blanket asylum" procedures to anyone who migrate to Europe claiming the Eritrean identity.
Those vulnerabilities has been exploited as "pull factors" creating an incentive for many African migrants, particularly for migrants from #Ethiopia, to claim Eritrean origins for easy asylum process.
For instance, a November 2024 @DailyMail explosive investigation exposed ℎ𝑜𝑤 𝑓𝑎𝑘𝑒 𝑎𝑠𝑦𝑙𝑢𝑚 𝑠𝑒𝑒𝑘𝑒𝑟𝑠 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑟 𝑤𝑎𝑦 𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑜 𝐵𝑟𝑖𝑡𝑎𝑖𝑛 𝑏𝑦 𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐻𝑜𝑚𝑒 𝑂𝑓𝑓𝑖𝑐𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝐸𝑟𝑖𝑡𝑟𝑒𝑎 and then openly bragging about it to thousands of followers on social-media platforms. ( https://t.co/70c7nsFL4C)
For Eritrea, the consequences go beyond immigration statistics as the practice allows people from other countries to appropriate the identity of Eritreans, while simultaneously reinforcing stereotypes about Eritrean migrants.
The Harrow case therefore raises questions that extend beyond one defendant. It puts the spotlight on a potentially significant loophole in Europe's migration system: whether a claimed nationality can be verified quickly and reliably enough before it becomes the foundation of an asylum claim.

@DailyMail, We demand an immediate correction.
The individual you identified as Eritrean is not Eritrean. He is #Ethiopian.
You were previously warned that #Ethiopian nationals are systematically fraudulently claiming Eritrean identity to obtain asylum. You chose to ignore those warnings.
This misrepresentation is unacceptable. Correct your reporting without delay.
Attached is the official press release from the Eritrean Embassy in the UK 👇🏽
The Embassy of Eritrea to the UK and Ireland released a statement today, August 19th, clarifying the circumstances of an incident involving 33-year-old Bruke Desalagne outside St. John's Church in Harrow, North London. @HarrowCrownCourt @DailyMail@Telegraph@BBCNews
This harrowing crime amplifies two cardinal issues:
1. Inherent flaws of UNHCR's deplorable Eligibility Guidelines (2011/12) originally designed to promote malicious political agendas of harassment and "strategic depopulation" against Eritrea but whose blanket "asylum procedures" have allowed other nationals to obtain asylum masquerading as "persecuted Eritreans" ; (the estimates vary from 40% to 70% in several European countries).
2. The feckless norms and practices of Legacy Media who routinely misconstrue heinous and repugnant crimes of a deranged immigrant for purposes of stigmatization and racist/xenophobic campaigns against the Global South; (even RT recycled the story of defamation against Eritrea without any modicum of validation).

We keep telling you. And your didn't believe us. These rapist and criminals are bold. One of them is teaching them how to commit immigration fraud here. 👇🏾 again Rape is so Normal in #Ethiopia🇪🇹 that Agelina Jolie made a movie and documentary on it. Now the bristish are admitting.
“Who cares about the truth when the lie is more entertaining” “Bruke Desalagne” is pure Ethiopian name not Eritrean. This animal committed heinous crime then played the Eritrean card. Stop smearing actual Eritrean name. #Eritrea
