• No constitution in practice
• No free elections
• No free press last in the world
• No independent courts
• Indefinite national service modern slavery
•No freedom of movement, speech, religion, or association

A whole generation was born, grew up, and is now aging without ever tasting freedom or liberty. Independence was won with enormous sacrifice, but the promise was hijacked and frozen in 1991. What was meant to be a state became a permanent emergency, and what was meant to be liberation turned into fear and silence.

The tragedy is not just political it’s human
• Mothers waiting for sons who never return
• Families broken across continents
• Youth fleeing a country they love because it gives them no future.
Eritrean people deserves better.

The suffering of Eritrean refugees in Libya deserves far more international attention. No one should have to flee repression at home only to face detention, trafficking, violence, and abuse in search of safety.
