This rather bizarre looking larvae (c.3-4 mm long) will (hopefully) develop into one of the delightful Figwort weevils (Cionus sp.). Apparently they are covered in shiny goo which is distasteful to predators and parasites. On Common Figwort in our garden.

First British example of the weevil - gasterocercus depressirostris trapped in my VC15 moth trap on 27/9. A rare species in its central and Southern European range. Well worth potting anything unusual, not just moths!
@ginobrignoli The pronotum appears granulated rather than pitted, which would rule out indefinitus. Shape looks like raucus, but that should have scales. Odd.
@WeevilRS anyone know of any info on parasitoids of Apoderus coryli ? I found a leaf roll with larva accompanied by what appeared to be larva of Braconid/ichneumon or something, I didn't collect it tho i have a history of failure rearing these things. Rolled it back up & left it
