Yeah, all this is so interesting
I think the reduced enjoyment is honestly a lot because of lack of friction in the creative process
If things are button clicks away, it removes all that made it so special. The blank canvases. The endless iterations, hour after hour, after hour.
We need friction through the journey of creation - It's what makes each iteration better each time
This is also what I feel AI isn't doing, better each time.
You can prompt and edit, and all of a sudden, it takes a miss-step and you wonder what even happened there.
There's probably a portion of the feeling that we are no longer in the driver seat either as AI is creating more things now. We feel that we should be in the driver seat, of course, because we know our craft.
So the collision here is so true and very fascinating to experience
Same but very different 🌳

@fabianarbor@robably__ 8mo of the years sucks ass with cold, darkness, and grumpy anti-social human beings - Come for June-Sep, otherwise pick somewhere else Rob
Managing to do that already, really Figma isn’t needed if you have great development skills and go straight to that instead with a clear vision
Comically also, in terms of prototyping, After Effects is still superior to showcase top quality interactions and transitions. Figma is far from that still not even with a timeline so solving their fps issue and performance is just the start of the mess
Such a happy thread here haha, but seriously sometimes we need to say it how it is and face reality
@edgarasben@zoink@figma Yep, its really not good.
Not really, so the solution is definitely to charge more, work less, close Figma as fast as we can and go and enjoy life a bit more
Their IPO has gone great so that says it all
@edgarasben@zoink@figma Absolutely disgustingly awful and has been for the past 1,2,3,4,5 years or whatever since Figma lost their focus on product and its core, and starting to do so much bullshit
@aboodman Noticing a nice authentic car interior in comparison to whatever bullshit they presented now in 2026 with an iPad in it.
It shows that you are looking for great attention here so I wish you best of luck with that!
