My god this is such a good speech that every SWE needs to hear. You know what? Every person should hear it
Keep the happy memories, eyes on the reality, be excited about the future. That’s the best that anyone can do
SpaceXAI engineer (ex-Cursor):
"right now I'm running 10-20 GrokBot agents that automate 90% of my routine
i have a Chief of Staff agent. He knows about all my other bots and manages everything"
in a 50-minutes podcast, a SpaceXAI engineer showed how to build a team of agents that will work for you 24/7
worth more than a $500 course on agentic engineering
watch today, then read how to build a Grok agents team from scratch in the article below
I was talking to someone about @travisk today
And I was reflecting that there was no one else on this earth who could have had the resilience to make sure that I can go from Point A to Point B in almost every global city
No one else in Silicon Valley had the guts. He did.

This year I discuss corgis, compute, and Cold War; the Texas State Fair; DSA; Neue Sachlichkeit; disfiguring the physical past and the end of history; Germanic obedience; Antichrist; wisecracks; Pascal’s Wager; romantasy; and croissants.
in many ways, @usv was built on taking advantage of the second-order benefits of bubbles (dotcom, crypto 3x). it is a topic we discuss and write about a lot
this stratechery post does a great job spelling out the productive overbuild we can hope to get from this AI bubble:
1. Increased power generation (total capacity flat in the US for last two decades!)
2. New domestic chip fabs (trailing edge abundance?)
3. GPUs -- these are obviously much more short-lived assets but may surprise to the upside in terms of their usable life
perhaps most importantly: certain bubbles deeply aggregate talent and align attention. this has definitely been the case in AI and has accelerated much of the model progress of the last couple years
Bret Taylor (@btaylor) on the “triple, triple, double, double” debate:
“The faster you grow is sometimes correlated with a lack of a moat… I’d rather bet on durable, high-quality revenue and happy customers than just raw growth.”
Modal's goal has always been to build an entire suite of tools for building ML/AI applications, starting with the compute layer.
We're launching Notebooks today. It leverages our powerful Modal infrastructure to startup up GPU-backed kernels in seconds, and much more.
Try it out and let me know what you think!
