When Women rise, Communities thrive
When women are given skills and economic opportunities, they gain independence, confidence and the power to transform their families and communities.
#InternationalWomensDay2026
Today, on #InternationalWomensDay, we celebrate women at the frontline of healthcare — those working across clinics, hospitals and communities, including nurses, counsellors, community health workers, peer supporters and healthcare providers.
Thank you for all you do!
Today on International Women’s Day, we highlight a critical truth: criminalization, stigma and breaches of confidentiality still put women living with HIV at risk. Ending epidemics requires health systems that respect rights and protect consent.
Discrimination has no place in healthcare. As Clara Mwansa from the PATA Youth Advisory Panel from Zambia, reminds us, when young people fear being judged, they avoid services, and miss out on the care they need.
#ZeroDiscriminationDay
Today, on #ZeroDiscriminationDay, we reaffirm our responsibility to confront stigma and discrimination, which continue to deny PLHIV equitable access to prevention, treatment, and care.” Tonderai Mwareka, Program Officer – Stigma Index, @znnpinfo#PLHIVLeadersNow #ZeroDiscriminationDay #PeopleFirst #EndStigma @UNAIDSZimbabwe
Today is #ZeroDiscriminationDay 🤍
Zero discrimination among PLHIV is possible if everyone chooses responsibility over benefit, understanding over judgment, and humanity over stigma.
HIV does not define dignity. Our actions do.
Zero discrimination starts with me and you ❤️
We must rethink policies that exclude, rebuild health systems that serve everyone, and rise with communities most affected by HIV. Equity starts with inclusion.

Today is #ZeroDiscriminationDay.
For people living with HIV, internalized stigma means hiding their status, skipping treatment, and living in fear of judgment.
This isn't a side issue. It's a barrier to ending AIDS by 2030.
Congratulations to Denmark on becoming the first country in the #EU to eliminate mother-to-child transmission of HIV and syphilis.
With this public health achievement, 23 countries and territories have now been validated by @WHO for the elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV, syphilis or hepatitis B virus, or certified on the path to elimination.
This milestone demonstrates that with strong political commitment and consistent investment in primary care and integrated maternal and child health services, countries can protect every pregnant woman and newborn from these diseases.

When life-saving HIV treatment is delayed, inaccessible, or unavailable, it’s not just a supply gap—it’s an inequality that puts lives at risk. Access to diagnostics and treatment is a matter of Equity.
#ZeroDiscriminationDay

Uganda is set to receive the long-acting HIV prevention tool. A promising step forward in expanding prevention choices.
But, access, awareness, and community readiness will determine the real impact. Prevention works when it reaches the people who need it most.
