3rd graders at HMES Zoomed with fellow PWCS GT students from @TNS_Tigers to learn how a simple daydream turned into a published book. Thanks @MADscienceinth1 and @DJDoveInc for helping to make this happen. Excited to do it again on Wednesday. @PWCSGiftedEd
Another day, another jewelry designer. @KristaKimble visited my 2nd graders at SGES to talk about her business, Gifted Girl Creations. I think these kids are ready to design. @PWCSGiftedEd #thenecklaceshop
Today we learned from a 4th grade HMES kid entrepreneur about her small business, BB’z Bead’z. Her jewelry making expertise helped these 2nd graders with their own necklace designs. #PWCSGiftedEd#thenecklaceshop
Today’s quick #STEMstarter challenge: Have kids stack pennies, then slide one towards it…only the bottom penny should move because of inertia
(Next level: have kids write down their hypothesis before trying)
@dailystem#Stem teamwork at the beginning of the year! Activity is called Paper Tear. Kids get small squares of random colored paper and they tear it all up. Then they have to create a visual using the torn pieces of paper of whatever topic is given to them. Topic here was Social Media.
Today there are 2 teachers in the Kidwell house. Another successful recertification for me and a provisional license for firefighting for my ❤️. Pretty cool that both showed up on the same day!
Thanks to the Virginia Star program for donating a laptop for my student to explore for his Genius Hour project. Hands-on exploration for the win with a mission of better understanding how computers work! @PWCSGiftedEd
Thanks to my @HaymarketCubs and @EsGravely families for donating to my #donorschoose project. Our K-3 students have some amazing new games to challenge their thinking.
