@_rdgao I do feel sorry to disappoint him (partly because he likes that paper maybe even more than I do). He was a bit surprised and said no worries, I was doing great. That means a lot to me.

@_rdgao The part about disappointing people who provide help and support really resonates! My advisor comforted me after the first paper was rejected. I literally told him that I don’t feel too bad for the rejection. I still have plenty of time to improve and submit.
